I think this week was a tough one collectively for everyone in class. With new social distancing rules and a lot of people sent home it has been difficult to reach our project goals. Everyone is now fully online and I can not meet face to face with my group members, making a podcast very difficult to complete. I think throughout this time that we are somewhat isolated by ourselves can be a good opportunity to think of ideas, lessons, or struggles to talk about in our first official podcast. When we are finally all back together, it will be after thanksgiving as well, hopefully we have many experiences to bring to the table and share with each other when we can meet in class again. This weeks goals was to plan what we will donate, and understand we will have to come up with a new project soon. We failed at getting the donations done last weekend due to busy schedules. We hope to go this weekend, if not at least get all of our supplies around to donate. This week we got a better idea then last week of the specific items we have and will donate, and what age groups they would target. We can improve by having effective communication and working around each others schedules, especially with a stressful week.

This week was a difficult week to accomplish goals for our project. With one of our group members out for a week and the whole group out for one day, we didn’t have much time to come together and discuss. Also, being a 4 day week, our time was limited. Despite those factors, three things I am proud of is that we all have items to donate, our family members will be willing to donate, and the organization we connected with is happily taking donations at this time. Two things I regret is not going to donate yet and failing to organize each item we will be donating. If I could give a piece of advice for working on this kind of project it would be to have effective communication with your group, keeping everyone on track.

Learning, including the how and why of it, has changed over the years for sure. Especially in technology, learning and adapting to new skills in a time period where things are constantly changing is crucial. Learning how to use a classroom page online, finding a test on your schools website…

If I were to start a project, I would want to consider other people in need. Around here and farther there are homes for families who cannot live on their own. These group homes hold multiple families including children, who often feel upset or embarrassed about their situation. I would want to collect the names, description, and interests of each person and personalize a box of goods along with a letter to them. I would find friends and family from school to help and participate. Another idea would be to have a human resources center in the school where students can go expressing problems such as mental health or personal issues no matter how serious. These issues can be given in letter, anonymous or not, or communicated face to face. With expressing these concerns, resources such as counseling centers or phone numbers/websites that address the students issue.
